VIVIR Tequila was founded in the UK by Navindh Grewal and Paul Hayes, two friends united through a desire to bring their much loved 100% Agave Tequila to the forefront of the premium spirits scene.
Crafted to authentic long-standing tradition built around a deep sense of family, community and place, VIVIR Tequila is produced in partnership with Casa Maestri, a fifth generation distillery built on the rich red soils of Jalisco, Mexico, the birthplace of Tequila.
Renowned for their sustainable practices and high-quality Highland Weber Blue Agave, plants are harvested at maturity, taking some 8-9 years, which develops a strong sweet flavour and allows it to seed. After harvest, the Agave is cooked in traditional Hornos (clay ovens) for 3-4 days which gives VIVIR Tequila its strong Agave flavour with subtle smoky notes. Distillation takes place using water sourced from a natural volcanic spring on site. The aged Tequilas – Reposado and Añejo – are also finished in American Oak ex-bourbon barrels.
